Interested in your thoughts on these line stats - the client is getting regular disconnections and has to reboot the router often.

Sync rates aren't great, I've suggested a master filter as a start.

Off the cuff I'd say filtering and/or internal wiring and thats it. Good UL rate, but DL doesn't correlate with the decent UL speed.

As you know, needs to be filtered decently before you can go any further anyway, but I suspect in this case, UL may increase ever so slightly, and DL dramatically, and everyone will go home happy.

Naked or POTS? No real point in a filter if it's naked?

Sounds like a case of get your hands dirty and have a look.

I had one to check that went suddenly wonky donkey the other week for a friends parents. Intermittent disconnects. They were told to pay for a tech to upgrade their internal wiring, new filter and try another modem, after donkey's ages of reliable service.

After a phone call to ask if Telecom are right and these retired couple's phone lines were bad I went for a quick visit.

The wiring was corroded on different jacks (lovely blue and green), nasty old 3 wire system and plenty of jacks with filters hanging off them.

I took a spare 2-wire jack and disconnected everything else.... the internal wiring as terrible as it was, had fine continuity. It was a dicky wicky line card at the exchange despite repeated attempts to blame this on the customer equip', and it took 10 minutes to verify it wasn't the customer end (20 wasted minutes to convince the Telecom rep to just put an analyser on it and stop wasting everyone's time).

Of course I wouldn't leave a job like that, it only took 4 minutes to snip the wires, re-punch them and throw some new gel filled scotch locks on the joints. The next day Telecom replaced the line card, problem solved.

So unless you look at it, you're not gonna exactly know, and it could waste time and money speculating.

Have to disagree entirely here. A master filter setup is just as important whether you've got a naked or clothed connection if you have multiple jackpoints. There is no other possible way to eliminate the bridge tap situation created by these.
