Hi

I have a Master ADSL switch on my house..

when modem connected directly at ETP.. I get 46db.. when connected to my ADSL line inside I get 54db

Is that what you would expect? or do I have a wiring problem?
can I do any test on line with any equipment?

Dean

Results should be the same.

When you connect at the ETP do you still have the remainder of the house wiring attached, if so remove it so all you have is the inbound line at the ETP connected to the modem, nothing else.

It could indicate that a) your house wiring is very poor and still causing issues despite the installation of the filter, or b) the filter is damaged.

Hi, pretty much all master filters are the same they are all tested to the same standard. Sounds very much like its faulty or there is something very screwed with your house wiring.

That said, your attenuation is clearly high (due to line length), once you approach the 50dB mark you are starting to step on the edge of ability for the modems to work comfortatably, so the behavior of the technology can be a bit erratic.
