Letmein or "LogMeIn"?

LogMeIn is a legitimate service - I use it in all our servers. It's also a remote help desk software, which is what those scammers are using to take control of people's PCs, and obviously install some malware that you folks are missing.

Arghhh... Very large screenshot is very large. Can't you folks just cut to the window that has the information needed instead of using the whole desktop?

"IDK"? Seriously can't folks just cut around the part of the image that is actually important, making it easier for everyone? Like this:

Is not much asking people to be considerate... Also in your original screenhot we can see email address and a phone number...

Focus on the window you want to capture, hold down the Alt Key then press PrtScn (the Print Screen key) it will just put the Window in focus onto the Clipboard or Paste buffer for copying to Paint Brush etc instead of the whole Desktop screen. No "cut around" required.

They tried to convince my 10 year old daughter to switch on the computer so they could fix it but they hung up as soon as my wife picked up the phone and gave them what for !

I didn't mean it was all harmless the first part is but letting someone else into your PC without knowing who they are or where they are well that's just (to put it politely) silly and in no uncertain circumstances should it be allowed ever

Got the call tonight asking for me by name.

I played along with them for a while, but then decided that I had had enough.

Turns out that they don't know what the following words mean:

(1) Losers
(2) Scammers
(3) Police
(4) Arrested (as in "you should be")

Not sure if they understood the last couple of words that I said to them, but I guess me hanging up on them probably sent them the message that I wasn't interested.

My wife got the call while I was at work.... It's always the way! The kids learnt some new swear words! They were quite shocked with their mum saying those things on the phone.

One of my customers got sucked in and gave out her email address and credit card details but suspected it was a scam after doing so and started going off at the caller whilst still on the phone, telling them how horrible they were.  They canceled the card in time fortunately before anything was billed to it.

I copied an email sent by the scammers to the custs email account and I have the header, the website of these scammers is assistmypconline dot com and the email is from support @ that domain, appears to be hosted by hostgator.com and im in the process of reporting the site to the webhost.  Would be helpfull if others can do the same, the more emails they get, the more quickly they will act.

The ip addresses from the header:

I also have the logmein codes used and can post them, they are written down on a bit of paper in my workcar so will get them tomorrow.
