Now I got confused.. it is OTA, but selective? I am on Vodafone and force the phone to check on updates (through Settings, Phone UPdate) said mine one still the "latest"....

Odd - I just hit Check for Updates and off it went.

Did it over mobile data, maybe that helped? Connected to WiFi when it asked me.

My device actually started freezing up, mainly while using Amazon Kindle but also Internet Explorer. Completely unresponsive, screen blacked out, but holding the power button makes the usual "slide to power off" message to appear and it recovers from there.

I am waiting for this update to cure the SMS timestamp problem and the freezing. I can see it's going to be a long wait. My Windows Phone 7 devices (HTC and LG) are still waiting for Windows Phone 7.8 and already in two out of "three weeks delivery time" someone pointed out in another thread.

the WP8 over the air update hasn't even been released yet, so you still have some time to wait

You can send the phone to Nokia Care who can flash the update on immediately

Ordered a YELLOW!!! Lumia 920 from the Telecom website this afternoon. Tried to pick one up at one of the Telecom stores in Dunedin but all they had was black which I didn't want, thus I had to order it online. Does anyone know how long telecom takes to ship mobiles and how quick the courier service they use is?

Also I see that Telecom include a Nokia wireless charging plate with the yellow and red lumias but not the black one for the same price. I'd be annoyed if I wanted a black one.

Not sure which courier company they used, but mine took just a few days and I live rural which normally takes another 1-2 days. Enjoy the phone.

Did you get a tracking number from Telecom? Or did you just have to wait for it to arrive?

I received an email confirming the order, which said I'd get another email once it was dispatched, presumably with a tracking number. However, no further emails, just the phone arriving a few days after ordering.

Awesome thanks for that.

I still find it quite annoying that no Telecom stores seem to have the Lumia in stock (other than the Black if your lucky), the store was most unhelpful today when I enquired about getting one and whether they could get one shipped down to Dunedin. In the end I just walked out and went online when I got home. Telecom really needs to work on some customer service with some of the people they have working in store, the guy I was dealing with was the assistant manager according to his name badge so I expected him to be somewhat helpful.

Has anyone else brought a red or yellow handset off Telecom? Did you get a wireless charging plate with it? Did you buy a black handset off Telecom and not get a charging plate? Given all three colours retail for $999 I would have though they would all be exclusive or inclusive or a charging plate. Does anyone know why the Black one seems to be being sold without the wireless charging plate included?

Yes I bought the black one and got no charging plate. Had some issues with the phone and went back to warehouse stationery who sent it away and got a new one for me. They were really good to ask if I wanted a different colour so i chose red. Got the red one today and it has a charging plate. Warehouse stationery also source their devices from telecom.

Regarding telecom and their service of this phone I have already written to nokia. There service has been crap and a couple of stores in auckland said they were not comfortable selling me this phone as they were not confident about it. A lot of them didnt even have it on display so overall their marketing of this phone is poor. The black one doesnt have the charging plate due to some retail error as confirmed by nokia guy in nz.
