freitasm: Nokia Maps update available. Second one this week. Good to see things rolling out.

And a little boy waits for network+, call+sms, feedback to nokia etc ;)

This is quite odd that you've yet to receive any updates.

I assume your time/date and region settings, APN settings settings are all correct?

Also, is your Microsoft account and New Zealand account or overseas?

s.joseph: Anyone using there telecom branded Lumia on 2degrees. I'm having odd issues where the internet works on explorer 10 but not in apps such as Facebook or the store? I've changed the apn so not sure what's happening?

Hi,

Make sure you use the following settings.

Under Mobile Network Settings > Edit Internet APN > APN. Enter in the word ( internet ) without the brackets and save.

Yeah ive done that and ie10 works but other apps and purchasing from the store doesnt?

Is the issue also prevalent when connected via wifi?

nope works fine on WiFi and telecom sim.

Fixed it! The guy at lambton 2 degrees store had found a fix for it by just typing in the mms APN settings and everything started working!

Just tried using Internet Sharing now. The first time my laptop connected the phone rebooted. After this initial problem the connection was established, solid and worked fine...

Yes to all questions, and MS account is NZ

Anyway, a little boy no longer waits. I checked my phone 10 minutes ago and updates were pending.

Have to say I'm loving the switch so far, whilst it's not the most.. feature packed operating system it still is nice to use

For an out of the box experience the standard headphones sound most pleasant, compared to the S3 and it's included headphones the nokia is a heads up winner

Just as an fyi... I bought the Nokia Purity Stereo In-Ear Headphones a few months back for my 800 and am now using them on my 920.

I compared them to the included earbuds and the difference is like night and day, even more so when using the 920's built in EQ.

The tangle-free lead also works really well. I'd never normally spend $100 USD on earbuds, but got them as I had a gift voucher sitting on Amazon for the amount. Now I'd buy them anyway.

Tip for anyone with a 920 that resets itself or requires a soft reset to come back to life - When this happens, go into your date/time settings, disable Auto, set the correct timezone/date/time then re-enable Auto.

I have found that it gets reset and Auto doesn't actually seem to adjust it, at least not quickly. Having the date/time wrong affects a lot of seemingly random things, e.g. signing into Xbox, Linked-in, Wordament.. and who knows what else.

I was planning on not using a case for the 920 but I chickened out and ordered a couple off eBay to try out.

Both are black, one's a snap-on shell and the other is similar but looks like a compressed felt/gortex sort of material. Both are the slimmest ones I could find on there and they only protect the rear. They should arrive next week.

I was planning not to.. Turns out I like this phone so much ;-)

The OS is great but the APPs availability is still miles away from android/ios

Something really weird...

I tried to take photos in the dark, the guide light/flash will light up for focus but the picture is taken without flash... Any idea? The flash will not work despite setting it to Flash On or Auto. I tried to select night mode and the flash is still not working.

I see two flashes in quick succession when the image is taken. The focus light comes on beforehand if that is enabled.

I think my flash is a dud. Something is not right.

Downloaded few torch app and the led light up but quite temperamental. Occasionally it works but not all the time. Quick search on google and there are a few others with flash issue...

I restart the phone, set flash to ON.

The first picture taken, the LED flash will light up. Subsequent pics, the flash did not work (despite the same setting).

Exit and re-open the camera app, first photo taken, the flash works but not after that.

Hardware or software issue? Anyone?
