Will I need to wait for 2degrees to approve 7.8 or will I be rolled out a notification in the coming weeks no matter what?

I'm using a Lumia 900 from overseas.

Specifically:

Lumia 610 - Vodafone - 1066.0000.8858.12470
Lumia 710 - Telecom - 1600.3036.8853.12440
Lumia 800 - Country Variant, black and white - 1750.0823.8852.12430
Lumia 800 - Country Variant, cyan and magenta - 1750.0805.8773.12220
Lumia 800 - Telecom - 1750.0805.8773.12220

That Version number is higher for my Voda Lumia 800, but from last time who know what the hell that means?

freitasm: Good work then. What about the other OEM available in New Zealand? The HTC Trophy (which my wife's using on 2degrees) and the LG (which I use everyday at home as a "wifi tablet" kind)?

All the WP7 devices sold in NZ should receive the 7.8 update, including the HTC Trophy and LG optimus 7 q.

Well, my Trophy has noticed, and is now installing, update 7.10.8112.7. Which seems to be about SMS messaging and SIM contacts.
Hopefully once that's done, it'll do 7.8 next.

I still don't know why they put that bit about updates being cumulative - it never just installs the most recent update, it does all the little ones along the way.

My 8858.136 update was indeed 7.8, its finished, and looks all pretty. Its even changed the Windows Phone splash screen on startup from the black background to a pretty blue with the new logo.

Have you never run an update on this device? Microsoft promised that users would never miss a second update, which would always come with the previous one, even if the telco decided to hold the previous one off...
