Trying to use Zune to copy pictures from my Nokia Lumia 610. This fails with installation error 0x80070652 when running ZuneSetupPkg.exe.

Any help would be appreciated

Try using the "Windows Phone" app from the Windows Store instead. I dont think the desktop version works in Win8

Zune works fine on Windows 8. Try re-installing Zune

Try this.

Step 1> open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). 2> You want processes tab. 3> find "Zune" or "Windows update client" ( it will be using ram but nothing is happing). Click it and click "End Task". Once it is ended go back to the Zune software and run it again.

Thanks billgates, neither Zune nor Windows Update manager are listed in the task manager. The error code does indicate that a conflicting process is running, but which one?

try downloading zune again, save it to disk - dont 'run' direct from the web. maybe a security issue in temp files, could be a corrupted download.

zune definately works on win8 - on several versions.

Thanks Regs, I am sure Zune works once its installed, problem is I can't get it to install (see first post).  I download then run SetupZunePkg.exe file from File Explorer.

if you right-click the downloaded ZuneSetupPkg.exe and select properties, do you see a button on the properties window that says "unblock"? sometimes files are 'blocked' by default when pulled from the internet

Regs, there is no "unblock on the properties window of the . exe file. The Zune error article does not appear to apply to my error. Windows is uptodate with Windows 8 on automatic update and Zune just downloaded but will not install with error 0x80070652
