http://www.expansys.co.nz/samsung-focus-windows-phone-7-smartphone-unlocked-205130/

Use the voucher code - EXPANSYS10 for further $20 off at checkout.

All up NZ$775 incl Fed Ex shipping to Auckland.

More than likely will have to pay GST which will bump the total to ~NZ$880

This device will primarily work on the XT network.

I pre-ordered the dell venue pro from clove.co.uk but due to supply issues, clove will not be receiving any stock till January 2011 so I cancelled that this morning.

This is the only wp7 device in the market that has an micro sdhc card slot easily accessible which will let you upgrade the storage up to 40GB max without you breaking your phone's warranty,

ps - the phone is not in stock yet with expansys but they are hoping to receive some with in 7 days.

There's only one problem: you can use almost every service provided by your mobile operator, except MMS. There's no way to configure MMS on Windows Phone 7 - you use whatever the operator put in there, and you can't change it because there's no UI for the settings...

Thanks, didn't knew about the mms settings for wp7 bit. It's a shame but personally for me not a big deal because IIRC, the last time I sent someone an mms was 2 years ago. Hopefully a future wp7 update will fix this *feature*.

Just today, someone has managed to enable tethering on their samsung focus. It only works with samsung wp7 phone's though due to the codes they use to access the diagnosis service.

Coincidence it arrives at the same time as the LG's through gen-i?
They never offered this one though.

Thing about Focus is that it has an micro sdhc card slot where as Omnia 7 does not so if in future you wish to increase your storage on the focus it is possible. The other major diffierence in omnia 7 is more metallic where as focus is totally plastic but also very very light.

True that. The storage doesnt't really worry me personally. I have a 16gb iphone and never full it up to even half way. I just really prefer the form factor of the Omnia. I might just wait and see what price and all the Omnia comes out as, but im getting a little impatient haha. I want my phone now! lol

Did anyone purchase one via these guys?
I am about to buy one for work, might get this through Expansys, or the LG through gen-i. But I would rather have the Focus.

I ordered a Focus through Amazon Wireless in the US, as I'll be there next month and will be bringing it back to NZ with me.  Doing so saved me about $100 USD compared to the Expansys price.

It's AT&T branded, but I'm optimistic that someone will find a way to unlock it by the time I bring it back in January.

I'm curious why the statement was made "will work primarily with XT".  Looking at the specs, it appears to support the 900 (GSM), 1900, and 2100MHz bands.  Is it because of the missing 3G support at 900?

I also have a  AT&T branded fone that that has HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 bands.  No problems with 3G on both 2D and Vodafone..
