As per "Where's Mango?":

For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update—and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.

Place your bets on how Microsoft will actually deliver it smoothly, or repeat the previous "experience" and deliver the update over the course of almost a year.

Should be smoothly now. I know that all the wp7 carriers in Australia, UK, Canada and Germany have already approved the mango update. AT&T in US has also approved the update. I think they waited this it's a smarter approach in comparison to what happened last time around with the NoDo update. They RTM'd Mango in July, gave the OEM's and Carriers couple of months to sit on Mango and approve it. Majority of the wp7 handsets locked to their carrier will get the update same time as unlocked handsets owners.

I'm personally curious why us unlocked handset owners have to wait at all for approval. All the Telecom-sold devices are complete uncustomized by Telecom, and yet we can't get the update because Vodafone holds the update for three months to ensure that the "Vodafone" custom colour is the right shade of red.

I'm concerned that VFNZ who are the distributor for Mango here will wreck the experience for those of us who aren't their customers.

If my Trophy cannot use hotspot I'm probably going to have to hack it

Vodafone *is not* the exclusive Windows Phone distributor here, as Telecom has the LG handset in their lineup.

Yeah they don't sell it but their obligated to support it. I love the Trophy, it's an amazing phone. Once it has Tethering and native MSN i'll be very happy

I've heard rumor 2? is thinking of supporting WP7 as well as Android. When mentioned to a 2? staff member I got "wait and see ;)" so yeah
