Microsoft has released a new update:

7.10.8107.79

On-screen keyboard. Fixes an issue to prevent the keyboard from disappearing during typing.

Email. Fixes a Google mail syncing issue.

Location. Fixes a location access issue. With this fix, the Me feature in the People Hub sends anonymous information about nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers to Microsoft only if you agree to allow the Check In function to access and use location information.

Security. Revokes digital certificates from DigiCert Sdn Bhd to address an encryption issue.

Email threads. Fixes an email issue related to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. With this fix, when you reply to or forward a message, the original message is now included in your response.

Voicemail. Fixes a voicemail notification display issue that occurs on some European and Asian networks under certain conditions.

There's an update in my LG, and it won't appear in the list, since this is a firmware update only - the OS version won't change.

New firmware 1.05.10 for LG C900K.

I tested to see if the update included BlueTooth HID (you never know, a hidden gem not in the update log), but not, it's not there. Still behind the S2 and iPhone 4 in that respect.

Note: In the Windows Home Update history log, there is no mention of "Internet Sharing" for 7.10.8107.79, I'm guessing this is because others got it in Update 7.10.7720.68, although a reference such as "Vodafone New Zealand and HTC enabled WiFi sharing" as an item would have been good.

So far the testing of the sharing has proven disappointing, with a handset reset required after disconnecting and attempting to reconnect.

you;'re looking at teh OS version.  Internet sharing has been in there since the first release of "Mango" WP 7.5.

Its the hardware vendor - HTC, Samsung, Nokia etc - that has to include the drivers to enable it in their Firmware version, assuming their platform is compatible.

Agreed, that is what I was attempting to articulate with the suggestions "Vodafone New Zealand and HTC enabled WiFi sharing".

As I understand it, Vodafone (as the network operator) has to agree to each handsets ability to use Internet Sharing.
