CdTDroiD: Awesome, might have to check one out. Any reviews from NZ users around yet?

Yep, you could try this Geekzone site.  And there's a link to reviews of the Lumia 710 as well.  But it doesn't seem there's much hype about that mode.

Would any of you rather use the lumia 800 over the iPhone 4S?

I never had an interest in getting an iPhone. Thought about it last year, but waited for the Nokia Lumia. Not disappointed.

You would have used one though eh? Do you know anywhere I can try one out? Pretty much the only reason I can't warm up to wp7 was the navigation and seems the lumia has solved that

That seems really odd.  Both were installed on the 710.  So long as you're not hunting for wifi (when on mobile data) I find the battery to be the same as the SGS2.  I thought that was the phone you were currently using.  I can get a days use out of it, but I'd never expect to go more than 24 hours.  You'll find yourself caught out the next day.  But charging a smartphone overnight is pretty much the norm in my experience.

I have my work exchange account and my personal Hotmail account set to push email as It arrives. Facebook and twitter sync in the background. Have done 1 day 1 hour. Still have 9 hours time remaining and 32% battery left. Lumia 800 here.

I've just purchased a Lumia 800 to replace my HTC Touch 2 Windows Mobile 6.5 personal phone, but also have an iPhone 3GS for work.

It's early days, but here's some random observations:
- Battery life I think is about the same as my iPhone 3GS, but the iPhone does seem much quicker to recharge
- If you're a social networking person, the Lumia people hub is excellent and beats anything in the Apple world hands down
- The iPhone's ability to group applications into groups is something I miss on the Lumia, but I installed an app on the Lumia called "new group*", which does allow you to come up with a "marker" to move tiles under. Not exactly the same thing though
- I have been reasonably pleasantly surprised at the number of "essential" apps that are in the Windows Phone Marketplace - e.g. Subway (haha), Wellington Airport info, mPass, etc
- Using the Lumia as a wifi hotspot is not currently supported, but has been reported in numerous posts as something that is coming and is something I will use when it does
- Office integration on the Lumia is, as you would expect, great - with integration directly into Skydrive. I prefer it over, say using Dropbox on the iPhone
- Text reflow is missing from IE on the Lumia and although the iPhone doesn't really have it either, at least the Safari "reader" component allows reading at a text size that suits my eyesight
- I think I prefer the iPhone's method in-place of spell checking, rather than the displayed list of possible words to choose from
- Nokia drive is absolutely superb and quickly recovered from all my deliberate attempts to confuse it. Don't even think about need a stand-alone navigation device
- I haven't yet got into listening to music or watching videos, so can't comment there

So all in all, maybe pretty evenly matched for me at the moment.

Ive used TONES of WP7 phones and ive had 4 iPhones i think?.. I am pretty close to selling my iPhone and buying a Lumia because i always liked WP7 but i HATED the bing maps and how everything works unless you live in New Zealand lol

I just cant quite wrap my head around it being a better device for ME, Ive been trying to think all day of why i shouldn't buy one lol. I think the camera would be good enough for me, videos and photos look pretty good, dont really care about 1080p as long as its nice and crisp and it does look so.

Fluid feel to the UI isnt going to be a problem with the WP7 UI, Battery should be good enough, at least as good as the iPhone 4S

I would miss a good TradeME and a good ANZ app lol... anyone else come from a iPhone 4S and moved to this?
