As I understand it that presentation is from 2010, so there has been a lot of water under the bridge since then.

I think the big picture stuff of it basically being better then what is on the market now is reasonable seeing as it is about a year or two out, making it four years out when presented.

I thought the idea that there would be a 'media centre' version and a 'gaming' version was interesting.

As to the price, I think the way things are going is that the console is the bait and the xbox live subscription is the hook where they make the money. Maybe they think this will have gone further by 2014 or so. I think this plays into the idea that most people now use the xbox for things other than games they bought on disc at a shop.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

I don't think we'll see it before 2014 (Xmas time). It will hopefully be announced next year and delivered the next. Build up a bit of hype, allow game devs to produce something.

True but I'm sure the same could be said for Apple yet they hardly give away their products for a steal. I think maybe there could be a watered down version for $299 but definitely not the cream of the crop.

Agreed, I would say the US$299 would be for the 'media centre' version. Unless of course they have radically changed there minds since this presentation was put together.

As far as Apple goes, I'm not sure the same rules apply to them as they do for everybody else.
