Ive just wrrecked my Xbox 360 and not really wanting to get another one as pretty sure new consoles will be coming out late next year or early 2014 and will get another one then.

I want to do some PC gaming for the next 18 months and currently have system below which I got a few months ago and have not really used for gaming.

Intel I7 2700K 3.5Ghz
Asus P8Z68-V Le Z68 board
8gb ram
Asus ENGTX560 ti
Coair TX650 V2 power supply

I know the basic PC will be fine for gaming over next year or so but is the video card still going to hold up or should I upgrade. Or is the 560 ti sill an ok card for now.

Bearing in mind I will be playing on a 40 inch TV screen and as long as graphics look as good as 360 or better thats fine for me. I dont mind running games at 1080p or 720p.

Other option would be to keep 560 for now and upgrade in 6-10 months or so if that would make more sence. I just dont know much about PC graphics cards and when is best time to upgrade - price verses bang for buck.

Any advise would be great thanks and also what card I should look at upgrading to if 560 will be suffering in the future.

thats one of the better gaming cards , you shouldnt need to upgrade it for a while unless you really need to play all new games on the max settings , older games you should have no problem playing them on the maximum settings

560 Ti should be fine for 1080p in most games.

I have a very similar build to you. Same CPU/PSU/GFX/RAM. I've been playing the latest games on pretty much max settings (Max Payne 3 the latest game I've played) and aside from slight glitching in the cut scenes it has run perfect.

I only have a SD 22" monitor so I'm not playing it all in HD or massive resolutions however.

Stick to the 560Ti for now, they seem to get referred to as a "baseline" card from what I've seen lately, pretty much everything will run on it at moderate settings.

Upgrading from the 560Ti pretty much means going to a GTX 670 at this stage, and they're not exactly cheap (I just gone one off eBay for a good price, clocked to GTX 680 speeds).

All it means is that you might need to set your resolution to 1600x900 instead of 1920x1080 in order to get decent framerates, not a biggy. Most of the high-end settings are barely noticeable unless you actually stop playing the game and examine textures anyway.

Edit: Can't spell.
