At work weve been asked to refresh our Flight Sim X box - it has a GTX260 video card, which has a Matrox Triple Head2Go Digital plugged in, powering 3x 22" LCD. Now, ive installed Win7 (vs the old Vista that was there) and it appears to have picked up the TripleHead quite happily and Im playing around with Flight Sim - now the issue is that the cockpits look terrible - the main game graphics are fine across the 3 screens but the cockpits look 1980's - their resolution seems to be running at 800x600 instead of the full resolution as the rest of the game is. Anyone else using multi monitor for Flight Sim and come across this ? Ill admit I havent installed the Matrox software yet (was last updated 2009, and no mention of Win7 support).... Grrr... found that if you use the product page, click drivers, it takes you to an old site with no Win 7 support.... goto the site mentioned in the manual, and you get a different site with different drivers etc, inc Win7 support :) XPD / @DemiseNZ / Gavin Website CPU : Intel E5300 GFX: Geforce 9800GTX/+ RAM: 3GB DDR2 A+ - MCDST - MCTS CCNA Arriving soon.

FSX requires more CPU grunt than GPU grunt (although it helps too). Have you considered X-Plane 10? Seriously utilises newer technology a lot better. You have to be patient with set up and installation of airports though.

FSX was amazing at the time. Shame that support for it has ceased. Even newer technology can't run the game fluidly because the software just can't maximise present hardware.

Yeah, its on a 8500 CPU with 4GB from 4 years ago, runs reasonably well with everything cranked up. Installed the OS and game onto an SSD today to help things along a tad loading time wise. Ive got Flight Gear installed and also have XPlane 10 on standby.... 8 DVDs of it :D Installing the Matrox software tomorrow to see if that helps with the stuffed up looking cockpits... Well, the software just made things more confusing.... but did find a handy hint, go into the FSX cfg file (found in AppData), and change the line that refers to widescreen to TRUE and ding, some of my issues resolved... not all but getting there.
