I found out that joining multiplayer and doing a mission that you haven't completed yourself yet, causes "odd" things to happen, the person you're supposed to hand the single-player quest into disappears if that's what they're supposed to do, and when you're back in single-player mode, they stay disappeared. Also quite a few quirks with things not activating when they're supposed to until you run back and forth over the appropriate location a couple of times.

I really enjoyed the first game, BL2 doesn't seem to be doing it for me. Maybe it's the fact that I seem to be doing a disproportionate amount of running huge distances just to get from A to B because there's no fast travel or catch-a-rides in some of the areas, or the fact that I've yet to find any weapon, other than the Gearbox sniper rifle I started the game with, that is even remotely close to being useful as an all-rounder. (Either the magazines only hold enough for 3 shots, or they're hopelessly inaccurate etc).

As it's a Steam-linked game, I can't onsell it, so I'll keep plodding along and hopefully it gets more interesting. The fact that it was NZ$56 including postage from nzgameshop is an upside.

Maybe I should've chosen a character other then the Siren? Her freeze-lock power seems to be remarkably useless.

Having much more fun playing Rochard which is just a platform game.

I will say that BL2 certainly _looks_ a lot better, particularly at 1920x1080 with all the options turned to 11, even PhysX. I've yet to see any slowdown or frametearing which is good. The Claptrap & Handsome Jack dialog is pretty entertaining as well.

How did I miss this thread..!? Been playing for a while, currently level 20 siren. @stevenz I love the siren's ability. Maybe it just does not suit your gaming style? I have put all my points into Cataclysm, to amp up the phaselock. I did have real issues the first time I came up against the Hyperion robots and had to get my son in to give me a hand, he is playing as soldier. Basically it as because I had no acid weapons and most weapons I did have were high elemental but relatively low damage. Now I have a acid sniper rifle I own them. On the other hand he had real issues with the nomads with shields where as I ate them up even when relatively low level. It does seem to work well in that different classes are strong against different enemies and can own when working together.
I love how easy it is to jump in and out of other peoples games. It was a real PITA in Borderlands so it great they have fixed it so well now. Over all I would give it a 9/10

yah I had trouble with the robot stronghold too, probably took me 20 goes but I am playing with the turret. Took me a while to cotton onto using acid

I just got up to lvl 20 as well. I just hooked up with Mordecai and we're about to rescue his bird friend.

My strategy is to always carry at least two weapons and one grenade of every elemental damage type.
I learnt this on Borderlands 1...

Now I have a missle launcher, sniper rifle, and either a smg/shotgun/pistol of every standard type in my bag.

I like to combine a shot of slag sniper rifle with a corrosive burst - that is excellent for the robots. I've got a slag grenade too but I haven't used it yet.

I also have a 3000+ dmg point explosive launcher too as a backup.

By the way if you want to plan out your character you can use a online tool gearbox setup go to the following site, click on the class and then view skill tree.

I have to say that by the time I am level 15 I'd expect to be pretty powerful, but the skills etc are so incremental it's hard to see how this could dramatically impact your skills! Takes a while to level up and then you get 1 point, and each tree item has 1-6 levels and there are literally millions of them!

upto lvl 35 now on the 2nd playthrough. Things get hard fast! but the gear quality has jumped alot compared to the last boss in the first playthrough.

White weapons are nearly replacing my sub 30 epics!

I've stopped playing co-op in my first playthrough for this reason (in addition to the fact that you might inadvertently jump a whole story mission because the player who's game you joined has already completed it)... this ability to develop slowly is designed for multiple playthroughs.

Have to share this. Me and my friend quickly snapped up the season pass on the day it was announced from Steam as it looked like they had made a little error in the pricing (it was $16 instead of $40). We were stoked when the next day it was up to the correct price as it safely sat there in our inventory (Had to buy it as a gift as the game hadn't come out yet). But when the game came out we tried to add it to our library but got the message stating that we couldn't add it without owning the base game "Borderlands 2 RU". Somehow we'd ended up with the russian version of the season pass, so we both submitted a ticket (playing ignorant of course) with support and a few days later go a message stating that they would be investigating this matter further. *sigh We figured that the best we could hope for would be a refund in which we would have to pay for the season pass in full, but my friend randomly tried to add it again today and what do you know, it worked as it did for me.

Very happy, thank you Steam.

Did anybody else get lucky and score the season pass for a steal?

Finally got a couple of decent weapons. An automatic pistol with infinite (!) ammo, and a decent replacement sniper rifle with fire damage. Can take out a constructer nice & quickly with an electrified assault rifle & a couple of corrosion grenades.

I can see the "Season pass" showing up as DLC, but it does nothing when I try selecting it. Unless it was included with the "premier club" thing that I already got?

No, the season pass is separate. You buy it and then the DLC will become available when released. Clicking on it should take you to the purchase page I would have imagined.
