So, I recently randomly decided to search for a puzzle game I played as a young chap, called Rescue Rover - which lead me to searching for the first real game that I played on the old XT (well, newish at the time) at primary school: Digger (which is remastered, and can be build and played on my linux notebook... woot!)

What's your fondest memory of an old retro game?

I know these are consoles but they're my earliest memories.

We had an Atari 2600 (Still got it) which got heavily played. Mostly Q*bert and Pacman from memory but also some Commando.

My father had an Astro Wars tabletop console I used to play religiously around the early 80's. It was a constant struggle to stay better than my brother.

I also fondly remember playing a Nintendo Octopus Game and Watch on long car journeys. I still have it on my bookshelf now and play every now and then heh.

Depends how retro we're talking. I have fond memories of the LucasArts adventures from the early 90s, not to mention some other "puzzle"-type games like Return to Zork. I also liked Relentless (which I just picked up from GOG a couple of weeks ago). I still have some 90s hardware that can run a bunch of those classics :)

I have AstroWars downstairs, still works, I can still clock it :)
The box disappeared many years ago unfortunately.
Now I want to get it out and have a game!

Cheers,
Joseph
