It's not definite that red-zone credit cards will be rejected for subscriptions as yet (after all, you can still use them with Origin to buy *other* things), but it'll be nice to hear something definite from EA about it. In so far as EA is proving capable of being definite when discussing TOR, at least ;)

Yeah, sent a request into TOR support and got this in reply -

"Greetings X,

I am Protocol Droid P2-B5 of Human-Cyborg Relations...

I have received your distress call regarding monthly subscription payments.

Each copy of Star Wars: The Old Republic will come with 30 days of subscription time, after which you have the option to continue playing with one of the following subscription-options:

1 Month Subscription: $14.99 (?8.99/?12.99)
3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/?25.17/?35.97)
6 Month Subscription: $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/?46.14/?65.94)

Further information regarding registering cards for subscription payment will be made available closer to launch. We appreciate your continued patience and look forward to seeing you ingame!

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if there is anything further we can help you with.

Galactic Support is our specialty...

Sincerely,

Protocol Droid P2-B5 (aka Patrick)
Star Wars: The Old Republic Customer Service"

Bolded for emphasis, but I would say an announcement is still to be made. I can't believe they would waive (tens of) thousands of valid c/c's however.

I read that oceanic players wont be able to get the release till 18th March 2012!?! I presume this is cause they are not going to make the oceanic servers available till then. This game comes out soon in the USA in 8-9 days time if im right.

If I buy the USA release I will only be able to play on US servers right? Would I be able to change over to Oceanic servers when its available here for us. EA mustn't think there is a higher enough demand for this game why they're releasing it later for us.

In terms of being 'officially' released here then March sounds about right from all the threads\articles\podcasts I've read. You can still pre-order from the US if you can find a copy.

Once registered, you can roll on any server you like, US or EU. It maybe a long time (or possibly never) before they offer dedicated Oceanic servers. Whether they offer character transfers at that time is anyones guess.

It's official, if your CC works on origin, you can use it to subscribe to TOR. That they blocked purchases outside US/EU via Origin is completely unrelated.

Just for people who are thinking about this: ordered my game from amazon.com yesterday, got the pre-release code right away and was able to link it to my SWTOR account. I have also downloaded the client (ouch), but can't start up the game yet, obviously.

The amazon box should arrive in January, but I am hoping to be able to start playing before that through the downloaded client. We'll see.

I'm in on early access. There's hardly anyone around too, trying to make hay whilst the sun shines!

I have early access but my account is locked because I forgot the answer to one of my Secret Questions. Waiting on support to reset them. Ironically I remember the answer to the other four questions (you had to set 5)
