This is Captain Kiwi of the Starship U.S.S NZ NIMROD. We have just left the star system Memory Alpha and have set course to DS9 (that's Deep Space 9 to you non trekkies) to pick up a stick of Bajorn Jumja on Promenade.

I had no idea what a bajorn jumja is but it sounded leet to me.

Startrek Online free to play
This game is so full of nobility that I was born to play this game. I highly recommend this mmo, in some aspects its better than swotor. Since first loading this game up last Friday I haven't gone back to swotor. I know! Here I thought I was a true starwars fan but I think deep down I am pure trekki!

The good:
Aristocracy, the elite. Starships, captain of my own starship, warp speed, Star systems to explore, space battles, very cool looking suits & the game detail is beautiful!  Character creation one of the best setups in an mmo ive seen took me a whole hour to create my character from scratch or jump in with a random choice. Free new starship to choose from once you hit lvl 10. Can create your own missions for others to play and review. The Klingon. The running man dance.

The bad:
Tho doing stuff in space with your ship is the best part of this game the ground missions could improve  they are far to quick and pretty standard missions tho I am at low lvl. Only one character to start with want more you will have to pay for slots or a monthly fee. Startrek takes advantage of the free to play cash cow. SWOTOR is online too.

The game was not that great on release from the reviews I read but players are returning as more fixes are getting released and from what ive been told by the trekkis STO is a huge improvement now.

This game is good just don't expect swotor think of it as a flashy version of Eve online without the hatred. Eve online  - awww did it take you 6 months of yur  life to save up for that battlecruiser only for it to have it blown to smithereens by the camper guild waiting outside the warp gates and now you have to start all over again? Hahaha... You wont find that in STO. STO loves you man. When you want a break from SWOTOR give STO a go!

+1 to all you've said. Tried it out cos I loved the price tag... and have now found there is a satisfaction in busting heads in space.

I've never been a MMO man until I gave this a whirl.

I think with this I may have evolved to full geek (much to my wife's disgust)

It sounds pretty cool, but after breaking free of my wow addiction a few years ago I vowed to only play games with endings. So you can keep your free to play mmo's!

Think its about 3GB.... Ive got it but only played for a short time. 2x under 5's dont allow much free time for MMO's :(

Perhaps sometime we should organize a Geekzone party to run through the Special Task Force things
