Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on this perplexing situation.

I've recently joined Snap VDSL and received their lovely Fritzbox 7340, and I'm attempting to get my VFX line working with it. (It's an asterisk profile).

I seem to have entered all the settings OK, and can make outgoing calls, but cannot receive incoming calls - the caller simply gets the Phone Number Unavailable message.

The Fritzbox shows that the Telephone Number is up and available, and the strange thing is that MyVFX Xport panel shows registered as well.

I have entered:

Phone number without the leading 0 in the Internet Telephone Number field
username in the User Name field
secret in the Password field
58.28.20.150 in the Registrar field
58.28.20.150 in the Proxy server field (also tried it with this field blank)
tick in Use Internet telephone number for Registration

There are no ports to forward or open as it is all internal to the Fritzbox.

What have I missed?

Try now Gary, I wont ring to test as I don't think you would appreciate the call at this time of the morning , looks like you had a cached registration around your old device, should be good now

I'm running a 7340 as well, and have run into a similar problem:
 - was working Friday night when I initially set it up (inbound & outbound)
 - doesn't register any more ("Registration of Internet telephone number 99504822 failed. Remote site reports reason for error 404")

VOIP setup in the box is the same as Virgil's.

Anything obvious at your end, or have I screwed something up here? :)

Not even seeing your attempts come through, last one was at 21:02 , but no attempts since then so it looks like your not even trying to send registrations or calls from that point on by the looks of it...

aha! Does pan.wxnz.net resolve to something else from Australia? Seems that 58.28.20.150 works well.

DNS is working fine, but I use http://unblock-us.com/ as the router's upstream DNS (which, afaik, are in Oz). Swapping to the IP address fixed it fine. Except I've just resolved that IP from behind the same DNS... #confusedagain

Thanks for looking, got me moving in the right direction anyway :)

Shouldn't do, as long as your DNS resolves that should be fine but we were not even seeing your registration attempts so guessing it had some issues, you would need to put some logging on the box for the telephony to see what it is telling you, I see you are now registered correctly at 07:02.

Has logs of attempting to register about every 30 minutes... will try and investigate a bit further tonight.

Looks like I have the same situation as Gary did.
I switched to Open VFX today and have converted to the SNAP! Fritz!Box 7340.
I can call out, but not receive calls.

(For reference, I was Certified VFX using a Cisco WAG310G).

I should have just done it before posting my last message.....  I called Xnet and requested to clear the current/previous registration and now it works sweet.   TOO EASY!

On a small side note, if you use the setup Wizard on the Fritz!Box, it doesnt give you the extra options like Proxy server field or "use internet telephone number for registration" option, so you need to set it up through the normal manual config pages.
