Hi,
we have 2 lines on openVfx using an SPA2102.
The first line was/is flawless.
Once we got a 2nd line it has been "choppy" - bits of the incoming voice are missed.
Both lines are set up identically, except for the port (5900 and 5901 I think), and both use Mr Biddle's config file (thanks!)
Have swapped the phones/cables, and problem persists, so pretty sure it's with the SPA2102 config or further up the foodchain.
Must be doing something wrong???
TIA,
Craig

What is the throughput up/down of your internet connection to the wxc/xnet speedtest server? Do you have QoS to prevent other internet activity from hogging the bandwidth?

Awesome

What codecs are you using? G711 or G729?

speed: 13.4Mbps down, 1.01Mbps up, so pretty much flat out for adsl.
no QoS, but we don't have downloads running, and it doesn't explain why it's only the 2nd line (and the first line isn't in use)
More info:
it's intermittent- sometimes line is fine (which would suggest bandwidth issues)
have tried TCP rather than UDP - no difference.
Thanks for the reply,
cheers,
Craig

G711u for both lines.
Should I try to change one or both?
BTW, when there is a problem, even calling voicemail has the problem, so not upstream of xnet
Thanks,
Craig

Have you tried swapping the lines around? The voice port could be poked - common on these older devices.
Any reason your are doing open VFX rather than have them auto provisioned?

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their ADSL broadband network faster. Why not spend a couple of hundred to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
Geekzone special price: $150* for master splitter install, normally $200+ through your ISP. Auckland and Waikato areas.
*Travel charges may apply. Additional costs may apply for complex installs.
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, RBI Rural Broadband. Also a dealer for WorldxChange.

Yes, swapping the lines leaves the same problem on line2.
It's intermittent, which makes me think it's not the hardware that's failed (?)
Why openVfx?
Phone Amego: http://www.sustworks.com/pa_guide/index.html
Gives caller ID on your Mac with a full call log etc- very cool.
Cheers,
Craig
