Just wondering if this model is supported, even if not officially.

Thanks

If no-one answers and says yes they are using one I would say if its got a mac address on it give Xnet a ring and see if it can still be used with VFX. I did a google on it and one site I went to said that it was discontinnued and replaced with the PAP2T.

The SPA-1001 is an older device and has never been approved for VFX.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their ADSL broadband network faster. Why not spend a couple of hundred to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
Geekzone special price: $150* for master splitter install, normally $200+ through your ISP. Auckland and Waikato areas.
*Travel charges may apply. Additional costs may apply for complex installs.
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, RBI Rural Broadband. Also a dealer for WorldxChange.

This is a smug reply and does not even attempt to answer the question as asked.  I understand that it is not an "approved" device.  However, that is not to say that it is not supported; perhaps it will provision the same as a PAP2.  I have no idea, and I'm wondering if anyone here does.

As I don't work for WxC (although I am one of their dealers) I can't give you a fully authoritive answer. However, they will only provision their tested and approved hardware. The SPA-1001 is not on that list.

Thanks.  I understand that this model is not on their list.  However, I ran a PAP2 (not a PAP2T) for a year, and it provisioned and ran fine.  That is why I am enquiring about another Linksys device; it may provision just fine.  Has anybody tried one?

You can always use OpenVFX but they won't provide all the auto provisioning to your device like they do with approved devices.
