Hi fellow VFX-ers,

in my setup I am trying to forward calls on from my asterisk to a cell phone. The call goes out and reaches the cell phone and rings. However, if the receiver accepts the call the call drops straight away.

The Asterisk platform is Switchfin running stable on an Atcom device.

It seems that I can only utilize 1 line. Putting a call on hold and making a second external call is also impossible.

Has anyone an idea how to resolve this, please?

Thanks,
Stefan

Doing a search of your name only finds one account with a VFX certified device, you will need to send me some details for me to take a look.

The basic configs with a open VFX service will allow you place a call oh hold it will depend on how your handling that, but again I need the details before I can do anything

Hi Maverick,

indeed my private connection is a WRP400. However, the company's connection as well as clients that we set up and support have a OpenVFX connection. The client in question is Paul Mitchell.

I hope that get's you to the right account.

Thanks,
Stefan

To identify the cause you really need to look at the Asterisk logs to see why the call drops. There are a number of reasons why this could happen but the logs should identify the cause pretty quickly.

Are you attempting a simple call forward (ie call enters the Asterisk box bridges the call to a 2nd outbound call) or using a SIP 302 redirect?

Hi sbiddle,

yes, it's about a simple call forward. The same symptom appears when I am on an active call and a second call comes in. It just drops.

I made some firewall changes today and cleaned up oder bogus/redundant firewall rules, e.g. UDP forward of 5060 to the Asterisk box.
Trying the call-forward thereafter succeeded. However, this was from another VFX line. I will do some more testing and report back.

Thanks in the mean time.

If you have multiple devices behind a firewall all trying to use port 5060 then you're guaranteed to have problems.
