Is there a way to block unidentified callers? I am tired of getting calls from "Private Number" that is actually a fax machine - most likely a spammer.

Should be able to do this via the MyVFX Portal I think?

MyVFX portal -> Incoming Calls -> Anonymous Rejection

Thanks.,.. Looked there and turned it on. Although by reading this doesn't look like it will actually prevent spammers from robodialling:

"Anonymous Call Rejection allows you to reject calls from callers who have blocked the display of their number. Only deliberate anonymous numbers are rejected. Callers whose numbers are unavailable are not rejected. Callers that are rejected are informed that you are not accepting calls from unidentified callers. Your phone does not ring and you do not receive any indication that they called. However, this does not apply to calls within your group."

You can also block International by blocking "0000"

As long as there is a CLI then this will work Mauricio, numbers unavailabe means if no CLI is sent to us at all, looking back at your records since the 18th we have rxed a CLI for every inbound call so this will work,

Suprise suprise or should I say no suprise that the funny CLI's are coming from a provider that I thought they would be coming from as they always generally are.

The other option is selective call rejection, this will do private and unavailable numbers as well, this is part of the advanced feature set.

What about blocking calls from obviously fake numbers? For example got a phone call from 91676, whatever this is...

Yes, selective call rejection will do this, you can put those fake numbers in there and set a time schedule to it if you wish Selective Call Rejection

You can also with the advance features use selective call forwarding, and forward to voicemail - a good option if you also get some legitimate "private callers"

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their ADSL broadband network faster. Why not spend a couple of hundred to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

I also got tired of the spam calls, and got none since enabling anonymous reject. It also blocked my mother-in-law, but unfortunately she found out how to enable her caller ID again...

The best was if my wife got a call where she gets asked for money (we already have donations setup) then she starts talking in a subdued voice and says I hold the purse strings tight and she is allowed only a certain amount of money and can't ask for more. The caller then also starts talking in a subdued voice, and my wife hastily says she has to go because I've just pulled up in the driveway and she can't be on the phone when I get there. We are awaiting the day the police knocks on our door!
