My xnet usage appears to be playing up as well.

I've noticed on random days usage would spike to 1-2 GB downloaded.
Like this morning, already up over 1 GB downloaded!
Even though this morning I have only browsed websites, and checked emails.

Very weird.

Please PM me your Xnet username,  I'd like to investigate your concerns.

Thanks

PANiCnz: This issue still hasn't been resolved, I've been overcharged for at least 5-7gb over the last week. Well over a month now since these problems were identifited and incorrect bills are still being sent to customers, and incorrect data still being accounted for.

Data usage appears to be correct,  we can see your username is being used in multiple locations.  I would advise changing the password on your account ASAP.

I notice the account details have been updated, does data usage appear to be ok now?

Found the cause of this issue,  traffic accounting updates were offline for a period of time on the 14th, when  the updates restarted it lumped traffic done of the 14th on the 15th.

Nothing wrong with the actual accounting of the traffic, just a delayed update.

Sorry for any inconvenience

Thanks
Cameron

*Please note this will have affected all data usage on the 14th/15th.  Graphs for the 14th will show low data usage.

288MB standard for the 17th, where the router only says 48MB.
What is going on?

On another note, being able to view a table of usage or being able to export it would be a nice feature to add to viewbill. Having to type out usage from the graph for comparison gets tedious very quickly.

Fingers crossed everything seems to be working as intended, thanks for all your assistance. Can you provide a timeframe by which the credit for last months innaccurate data will be applied?

Its been 12 days since you said credit would be issued.

Good to hear :)

Credits were placed on the 15th of September and should be visible in Viewbill.  I've just been looking over  the credits to ensure they are correct (didn't want to put my foot in my mouth like last time),

Please have a look at your credit and advise if you think it's correct.

Thanks
Cameron

Been investigating this and found the traffic will be associated with usage done on the previous day.  Due to the way our new traffic accounting system updates there is a 2-3 hour window at the end of the day, which could potentially be carried over to the next day - if an update doesn't occur.

I have raised this issue internally as it will cause some confusion with graphing & dates - running totals may be a more appropriate way of displaying the data.

Thanks

Thanks Cameronn, credit received and outstanding balance has just been paid.

At this stage fingers crossed everything looks pretty spot on, data usage is behaving as expected and performance has been fantastic of late.

Thanks for all your help in getting this sorted.

Cameron - Could this feature of the new accounting system explain why figures from our own reporting do not agree with the daily volumes figures from WxC i.e. we should not assume daily WxC figures should be the same as our own reporting ?

This seems like the most logical reason to explain why they don't match, there could also be a slight difference as your monitoring solution might not catch everything thrown downstream at your router.

Due to the issues mentioned in the previous post I wouldn't try and reconcile traffic daily - E.G Traffic from late in the evening can end up being recorded as traffic from the next day.

I'm still in talks with Operations regarding the new system and clarification.  At the moment the way it's displayed can cause confusion and raise eyebrows at times.
