Have been using Xnet Fusion for a few months now and it's all going well.  The time has now come to get the 2nd phone line up and running.

Have got an SPA2102 Adaptor and am looking for a cordless phone setup that can handle two phone lines.  Xnet have enabled the 2nd line and will have a single inbound phone number.  The goal is to be able to dial out on line 2 when line 1 is busy and have line 2 ring with line 1 is in use.

Had a quick look on Ascent and the Uniden XDECT R055 looks ok. Has anyone had experience with this phone or can recommend any other phones?  Thanks.

You can set it up yourself via the VFX portal so that if one line is busy the call gets forward to the second line, but you probably have to manage yourself selecting line to if you want to call out while line 1 is in use.

XDECT a marketing term and is essentially the same as DECT with added ability to use multiple repeaters, apparently was demonstrated to 2.2km range. It should be a good phone, just like DECT.

The batteries are NiMH. I would go for lithium as they have (require) high quality chargers. Consumer grade NiMH chargers are just crude current limiters which cook the batteries (I'm an electronic engineer). With NiMH I recommend you put the phones on charge for 24h once a week. My old DECT phone runs 10 days off AAA NiMH, so 1 week is a good recharge interval. I'm just too stingy to replace my phones, else I'd get ones that are DECT and lithium.

Looks pretty fancy. I would probably just put a second separate cordless phone on the second line. Keeping it simple. With voip there are so many options with call divert and so on the fancy phone would be over kill and you wouldnt need thw answer phone.

That's the same phone we use on our two vfx lines here at work.
They work great for us, we got the bundle that has 3 handsets.

I did see them on special at the Warehouse Stanionery for $199 last week which is a good price but not sure if that special is still going.

have been using the uniden with 2 lines at work for about 6 months
incoming line telecom with 2 talk for the outgoing line has worked really well

saves running for the phone you arent carrying.
have broken a few belt clips they seem really weak

Good Luck they seem to be getting cheaper

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I've just looked at the Warehouse Stationary website and the XDECT 7055 is $149 down from $199 which looks like a great deal.  I can't see the R055 on their website but will check in store tomorrow, but buy the looks of it the 7055 should work fine.

The 7055 doesn't look like a two line system in case that matters.

Argh, thanks for that - I only read the "3 Lines LCD" bit.  Just found the manual and it only has one line input.  Will have to go for the R055.  Thanks again.
