Hi All,
Just having some trouble with a Draytek 2130. Just put a phone system in to a site and they had one of these at their main branch. Our system has a feature called SP-NET which is just a linking protocol Samsung use to link multiple PBX's. It doesn't use standard SIP but rather a group of ports for doing the different jobs. Mainly 6000 for signalling/call setup, 6100 for the BLF's and trunk selection and then ports 30000-30031 for the RTP.

Now it seems the that call is being set up. I see that progress no problem. But the issue is there is no RTP getting back in to the system on the main end.

I have put an 'allow all' rule in to the access control list just to see if it makes a difference but it doesn't seem like it. Is there somewhere else I can get the the firewall rules? Maybe on the CLI?

Any help much appreciated.

Sam

Assuming they are running NAT, are you opening up the ports using the NAT functions or the Firewall section?

Yea so I have 6000, 6100 and 30000-30031 forwarded to the system.

The thing that I don't get is that the normal SIP trunks are working fine and work on the same RTP ports and speech through them is fine.

A couple of things worth checking:

I work for SnapperNet providing Tech Support for DrayTek modem/routers, Edge-core switches, Mobotix high-res IP cameras, QNAP network storage, Yeastar IP PBXs & more.
Anything I say is my own opinion and not necessarily that of Snapper Network Distributors

chevrolux: on the same RTP ports.

Wait, can I just clarify that you're not trying to forward the same ports to 2 end points?

Yup. Using UDP for the RTP ports. And no it is all forwarded to the same host.

Have turned off SIP ALG and Hardware NAT. Like I have said, the normal SIP trunks work fine so I don't get why it only blocks the RTP traffic when going through sp-net. Maybe I need to do another trace and just double check.

Edit: will check on firmware tomorrow. Not sure about that.

If some RTP traffic is making it through and to that host, then nothing can be blocking it, the 2130 isn't L7 aware - I'd be checking to make sure it's definitely trying to use the correct ports.

Yea you make a good point..

Just checked the firmware and am on 1.5.3.

Will do another trace today with wireshark and just double check the call is getting set up.

No worries. Give me a yell if you're still running into trouble. Feel free to email me your Wireshark/PCAP files if you'd like another pair of eyes over them.
