Currently have a draytek vigor 120 as my modem, and an old netgear wgr614 acting as a wireless router. Have recently moved in to a flat, and the old netgear isn't standing up to the 5 (reasonably) heavy users we have here. Constantly needs reboots an so forth.

Have been looking over the internet for a decent router for ~$200 but haven't come across one that seems robust. Only need something on 2.4ghz with most if not all devices operating on g network.

Have considered the Belkin n600 db & netgear WNDR4000. Could anyone provide some better suggestions/advice please?

Thank you!

I use a $39 TP-Link WR841ND along side my Vigor120 and it's easily the best router I have ever had.

I run DD-WRT on it which gives me so much flexability. It's 2.4ghz 802.11N at either 150 or 300mbps (I forget)

Ah cheers. I looked in to TP-link routers a bit more and ended up getting a TP Link TL-WR1043ND for about $100nz. They seem to do exceptionally good routers for such low prices

Yep amazing for the price. Especially if you run DD-WRT

+1 for the TL-WR1043ND. I'm back running mine with the stock firmware but I've used DD-WRT and Gargoyle on it. The stock firmware does seem a little more stable - a month or two between reboots rather than once every couple of weeks.

Excellent value router for what it does.

My WR841ND goes for months on DD-WRT without reboots. In fact I don't think I have ever had to reboot it for anything other than config change, power outage etc. It's never crashed.

From what I've read, the WR1043ND has pretty decent features without installing DD-WRT. I don't think with my requirements I'll need DD-WRT considering what the router offers already. Though I could be wrong :<

For any of you guys with the TL-WR1043ND router with DD-WRT, have any of you used the muti SSID feature to create a separate SSID for guest internet access alongside another SSID with full network access?
