Ok, playing Devil's Advocate again...

This thread had people claiming to have designed the product, people claiming distributing the product, and more.

I myself posted before that a lot of the Kickstarter projects seemed to be nothing more than someone who found a Chinese product , slapped a badge and got people to buy online thinking they were supporting a "new thing".

Just today I was looking at WiFi lights on MightyApe and all these products manufactured by "WiFi Lights" seemed to look exactly like the LimitlessLED lights.

Seriously, when is this charade ending?

I resell the same stuff.
By now it is Chinese.
There is a core of truth that Limitless initiated the concept of this product and that it was centered around an LG contest.
But then the Chinese ran away with it and in exchange he gets the best buy-in prices :)
The rest is marketing efforts by us and all to sell stuff that hasn't got a real brand :) Nothing wrong with that.
You're just smarter :D
www.wifiledlamp.com  You see?
In Dutch we have an expression "Daar komt de aap komt uit de mouw"-> translated flat: "Then the monkey comes out of the sleeve" There is your mighty ape ! But translated by meaning the expression says: "then the truth came out"
;)
Now head over to www.wifiledlamp.com and BUY :D

Wifi bulbs say:

"The company that designs, tests, sells the product is based in NZ. All of the original bulbs are created in Tauranga and then sent over seas to be manufactured in larger numbers. NZ created"

and'

"Wifi Lights is currently a re-seller of Limitless LED products."

So are limitlessled (based in Tauranga) the company who actually designed/made the bulbs and holds all the rights etc to the bulbs?

Correct, we appear to have no rights if someone else was to make wifi led products that looked different, what we thought was a unique idea when we took it to our OEM partner, KickStarter and Indiegogo a year ago, it turns out that it is probably already a 10 year old idea having wireless lights.  our OEM partner provides some rights protection around the actual look and product design copyrights, and because of our close relationship with our OEM partner, they will not sell to anyone else in NZ, and we have protection of our trademark brands and design copyrights (2012) in NZ. In fact there is also lot of the component patent rights held with companies such as Samsung LED and Wireless chips.

Cheers,
Hamish.

Hi Hamish. When will you do down lights that will work on existing 12v transformers?

How is the overall brightness compared to the old one? Are they the same length?

It looks fatter than the current one so thumbs down on that. The neck on the current one Hits the down light reflector.

More important is the light quality. The flicker on the current rgb is migraine induseingly bad.

Hi rich,

Yeah the new one is actually thinner at the base, and wont hit downlight reflectors, the middle has more rounded shape, but the same width.

Yes light quality has Zero flicker like our White LEDs. also I have not seen any flicker on the current RGBs. you are welcome to send them back for replacement if that is the case.

Cheers,
Hamish.

LimitlessLED: We would really like some feedback on what you think of the new design bulb in the top right of the picture.

One issue I faced with the existing bulbs was that some of my fittings had an additional sleeve (red) around the fitting itself (blue).   The bulb would not be able to be put all the way into the light fitting because of this additional sleeve.   A thinner/more tapered edge, or a little extra length at the point marked with yellow would have helped here.

It's hard to judge these things from thumbnails, however the build quality on the existing bulbs is very nice, and the new ones look like they are of a cheaper construction (actually my initial impression was that they were more of a 'hello kitty' version of the bulbs.)  But price/lampshades forgive most things, so if they ARE cheaper to build go nuts :)

The remote looks good.  Not sure I like the left right placement for the global on/off.  It's inconsistent with the zone on/off's at the base.    Also:  Is this a 4 zone colour remote, or a combined colour/white remote.   If it's a combined colour/white remote with the same 4+1 zone limitations I don't understand how to power on/off the colour bulb alone.

Hope this all helps

-Qyiet

What power level will the new lights be? Would be interested in fitting out our house if they are 70w+ equivalents

Got my pack today, starter kit with two white bulbs plus an extra colour bulb.

The white ones work fine with the remote - the wireless bridge is set up and connected to the network - I can browse to it from the PC... but I can't get the app to control any of the lights.

It's also worth noting that I don't seem to be able to program the remote - it only works with the two lights it came with, and only on the first two channels. Tried many times to set them to other channels - no response.

Wat do.
