I see in the specs that it plugs in to 120v outlet? Possible typo?

It is a typo. I ordered from them and it works fine. Software is solid and the configuration is expected.

Using it for security is perfect. And that is what I use it for

From an energy saving perspective on devices on standby, according to my smart meter I'd have to use this for almost 2 years before breaking even. Something to be mindful about

Got a couple (from MightyApe), use one to turn on the heater at the batch. One for LED lights in the kitchen.

Works perfectly, simple setup. You can use them with IFTTT too.
