Hi Guys, not sure if this is the right category to ask this.. I just moved to new place and it has automatic door garage.. question is... do you  know the function of the buttons on remote control model DOM501 (Dominator YBS2). this remote has two buttons and Im not sure what's the difference of the two buttons...

Sometimes I click left button to open/close garage and sometimes left button wont work and right works ok to open/close door.. so not sure what their functions really..

I tried searching internet but to no avail on details..
Anyone has the same model of remote control?

thanks for any feedback.

If there are more than 2 buttons on the remote, sometimes there is an extra contact set on the base unit which you can use to do something else with, like switch on a light, disarm an alarm etc.

I think the two button fobs can also be coded for a two door operation, one for the left door, one for the right, but usually in a one door situation they will just code both to the one door..

Given the prevalence of two car households in the suburbs, I think they give out two button fobs as standard.

Often the extra buttons are just there for people who have other things like gate openers and alarms.

eg, my remote has 4 buttons, 1 for the garage, 1 for the alarm, 1 for the outside gate, and 1 unused .

Does anyone know a good automatic garage door installer? I'm thinking it's about time I sorted that out at my place?

Thanks guys for clarification. Inserting new battery makes the two work. So yeah they are both coded on my garage.
