sutra: What is the model(Settings - General - About - Model) of the iPhone 5 16 GB bought from the Apple Online Store? is it "MD669X" for black one, and "MD670X" for white one?

I can't find anything online suggesting those are valid Apple model numbers.

You can find the model numbers via the Apple online store, by going through the motions of picking a specific iPhone 5 model (colour and capacity), as far as clicking the first "continue" button. They are:

MD297X/A black 16 GB
MD298X/A white 16 GB
MD299X/A black 32 GB
MD300X/A white 32 GB
MD662X/A black 64 GB
MD663X/A white 64 GB

The black 64 GB number matches what my invoice says, but I haven't received my iPhone 5 yet to confirm that is what it reports in About. (The /A suffix is probably missing on the About screen, but it is the same for everything.)

Mine has changed from "Shipment received at transit point" to "Shipment in transit" at 8:35AM today.

I'm guessing it will be out for delivery tomorrow.

Same for mine and two others (all within 10 minutes of 9 AM, all going to Wellington). My brother's one (which arrived in Auckland on Friday) left about an hour after mine.

It looks like most iPhones that arrived in the batches on Friday or Saturday are being moved to the destination airport today, so the courier drivers will have more time to deliver on Monday.

da5id:
Rosie121: My telecom account has arrived with the $29 fee for the plan to pay BUT it also has a $13 amount on it, bringing it to $42! No idea what the is $13 is for, not that clear. I am phoning before the end of the month to cancel the plan anyway so will ask!

The $13 will be the monthly insurance. They asked me if I wanted to get it when i bought the phone, and I said no.
What it is, is insurance in case the phone gets damaged or dropped etc...

I guess you should be able to cancel it?

Actually, it covers more than that - it covers loss, damage, theft, out-of-warranty repairs, cost of hiring a temporary device until you get back to NZ if you lose it or get it stolen overseas, and up to $1000 worth of "bill-shock" cover if someone nicks your phone.  And for everything except bill-shock cover, it's worldwide as well.  If you tend to lose phones or get them stolen, it's not too bad a deal - it'd take seven years or more for the insurance to be more than the cost of buying a new one.

The person who said it will be a part month payment were right. It's not insurance, I didn't add it on. I rang telecom today and cancelled plan, and they set me up on prepay so I'm happy! More data will be a help, can't believe how fast it disappears.

Yeah, I caught mine using 3G in my house instead of wifi when my network was on and running. Had to turn the cellular data off and on again to rectify it. Must keep an eye on that one.

Yes I keep cellular data turned off when at home and work and just turn it on when I need it when I'm out and about. Even doing that the data slipped away, more quickly than my old phone!

I wish my memory was good enough to do that, but I'd end up leaving it off all the time, lol. It might have happened because I started doing something on Facebook outside and then walked back into wifi range part way through, but I'll keep a close eye on it this week. I'm a bit wary after all the reports of people chewing through several GB in a weekend.

Yes, I did read that in reports from overseas that the date was being chewed quickly, so decided to turn cellular off when I wasn't using once I got my phone. How much data do you have? With the plan I was I'm, 250 was too small, went through 150 in one week, and that was being frugal! I now have 650 on prepay so am hopeful it will be ok!

I also received mine, around 11:30am. I'll wait until I get home to open it - I'm going to video the opening in case I have any out-of-box damage/scratches/dents like many have had.

Just cut your micro sim. Nothing to loose if you can get a nano sim for free when they come in stock. Look on youtube for video.
