Just reading that the VP responsible for sofware and ultimately iOS6 Maps is the same one who pushed Apple to bring out Siri, against peers' advice. Apparently Siri is not that well accepted within Apple.

myopinion: The thing that bothers me most about Apple is having to switch accounts all the time because the stuff I want isn't in the NZ store. Just wish it was open slather. Of course other stores have the same problem. Just saying.

Very true.

It means you have to find somewhere to get US iTunes cards reliably and safely, which I have not yet.

I use this place, no dramas so far and have bought from them a number of times: http://itunesdirect.com.au/

Thanks - I'll give them a go!

I've never used it - just seen videos.

Does it actually provide something useful or is it just an amusing party trick?

It would be interesting to do this in New Zealand... In Canada it seems Apple iOS6 Maps only gets it right 20% of the time.

got an idea:

the amazing geekzone race

get apple to provide some iphone 4

get contestants to only use apple maps ... at their own peril of course ...

and noone will probably win any prizes we get to keep it all

By then it should be as good as google map in 2012 but still behind google map 'standard' since new features are being added everyday.

I see that Grabone is the first cab off the rank with passbook in NZ. Any one plan on using it, or had any experiences to share?

Maybe. Not a big fan of the whole daily deal thing though.

At least someone is using it; I hope Ticketec or someone gets on it for concerts etc.
