16GB, 32GB or 64GB ?

It looks as if my smartphone decision is being made for me, and I will need get an iPhone. Firstly 1) I don't listen to music on my phone, prefer in the car on the PC or via the stereo 2) I prefer to use my own digital camera, Canon G7 3) I may have at most in the live of the phone only about 20-30 apps that I will constantly use I will have one "company app" I will use gmail and calendar I will use ... other productivity related apps - tasks/todo, contacts, etc. Would 16 GB be enough, or will I find I will hit the limit very quickly.

johnr: 16GB will be no use to you sounds like 1GB iPhone would be fine Lol! OP: why spending that much money. It sounds like you are not really going to use your phone that much... Is it because of the company app only available in iOS? Have you consider winpho? android?

Agree with the above replies. The storage is usually for music, high res pics and 720p/1080p video, and gaming storage. 16GB is total overkill for the usage you're describing above. Excellent. So the storage will last me a long time. And yes, I had considered Android and WPhone. I would have got an S3. As to WPhone, it just looks play-schoolish. The app has been developed for the iPhone only.

You can still get iPhone 4 8Gb at apple store and they are a good price at $599 - tell you company you want one of these and you'll take the $450 difference in cash as your xmas bonus (over an iPhone 5 16Gb). These are still a good buy if you want an iPhone but have minimal storage requirements and only running 1 app. I'm still purchasing these for my workplace requirements.

What phone do you have now? If its not a modern smartphone then I suspect it's a bit cavalier to say 16GB is all you need. It may be all you need for what was listed, but what about in six months when you realise you love having a smartphone, and want to use the camera reasonably often (because it becomes the one you are ALWAYS carrying), same with music. Or that smartphoning in general is awesome, and you want more apps, and bigger apps. Some useful and popular apps can be 1GB+. 16GB will limit you to 16GB less formatting, less OS install, before you even think about content. I don't have an iPhone here, but I think a 16GB iPhone reports around 13GB - 14GB free space out of the box? My last phone (an iPhone 4S) was a 64GB model, previously I had only had 8GB and 16GB smartphones, and the extra space was awesome. It meant I could simply not worry about app installs, photos, videos, and music, I had everything I could possibly have wanted on my phone, and still had around 10GB free. Hi Richard (KiwiTT), long time... I use an Iphone 4 32GB, but I store heaps of music, take photo's and videos and as many apps as I can fit on it! That said we have issued all our team with iphone4 8GB and they all find them fine to use, they are similar to you, there are a couple of apps they use for work, take the occasional photo etc. BTW once you start using the camera, which is very good you probably wont reach for your other camera very often! I have a Sony T2 camera that hasn't been used since I have had my Iphone, some of my photos have even been used in our advertising leaflets! Also for $599 I don't think there is a better smart phone for the money. I know a little more than nothing but not much...
