I lost my iPhone 5 yesterday. The Find iPhone tells me the last known location (movenpick, parnell) - but the shop has not seen / or have anything handed to them.

On the Find iPhone, it shows up as offline now and it probably has no charge. I have got Vodafone to block all outgoing calls. I used Find iPhone from my iPad to put my iPhone into 'lost mode' to broadcast my land number so that whoever got it can get in touch with me if they want to return it and get a reward and  some karma. However, these cool stuff are pretty useless on a phone that is not even on!

Is there anything else I can do to recover it?

I really want it back as I got some pics from the weekend that are valuable to me that are not yet backed up to iCloud or my media library.

networkn: The owner has been reunited with his phone according to his blog post.

First of all - a big apology for not updating this thread during the week - I had an extremely busy week and I forgot about this post and I just got on here for the first time since since I found it. Here is the details of how I recovered my iPhone.

(1) Just after I posted my blog post, The 'Find iPhone' app (running on my iPad) said "Your iPhone has been found". It showed the location as not the ice cream shop - but the Paper Plus in Parnell !!

(2) Apparently I have left it on top of the shelf whilst browsing a book in Paper Plus. A shopper picked it up when I activated the 'Play a sound' function and saw the message about it being a lost phone and handed it to the shop owner.

(3) And William the shop owner was kind enough to hand it over to me.

What I still don't understand is how a phone that had run out of charge (my calls to it went to voice mail) managed to get 'online' to report its position to the find my iPhone App - but I don't care - now that I got it back.

Moral of the story: If you got an iPhone and if you have not got any tracking software, get one! There are still a lot of honest people out there - make it easier for them to find the owner, if you loose your phone so that they can give it back to you.

Have a good weekend every one.
