Looks like it is iphone sized only. Not ipad sized.

Yep, iPhone only.

Tho that was the same as the YouTube app, which is now iPad size too as of a week or two ago.

I'm sure Google are working on iPad for the next release.

Does the above link work for NZ iTunes store? Need to send a link to my dad who is currently travelling in the US.

Thats Odd about the iPad...

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.1 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

If you do a search in the itune store on the iphone you will find it, as I found it fine on the ipad. It is very similar to the android google maps, which I think is better than the old version.

Yes works from NZ. Shame about not being ipad size. Guess it won't be long until that is sorted though.

If you do a google search for google maps for ipad, can find news links about this app release today and all of them I find say there is an iPad version out today, likely a separate app to the one above?

is this what android is like?  Maybe I need to go android...


Android version is a bit more advanced. Eg, let's you download sections of maps to memory for offline use.
