Any reason why home sharing from a PC or Mac based itunes won't work for you? I and many people I know do this and are happy with it. I have my entire video library on itunes (media folder is on a SAN but thats irrelevant for this discussion) and through home sharing can access all the content when I'm at home over wi fi. I've never had an issue with it and works fine with my old ipad 1

I use Airplay it to stream video from my PC.

For the price of the plugs etc you might be better off to get device to extend the range of your wi-fi

I think air play it can convert videos so you can down load them to the Ipad but I have not tried it yet.

Also since ipad's go for very close to retail on trade me is it an option to sell it and upgrade to a larger one?

I am contemplating doing this after my holiday, trading in my Ipad 16GB 3G version and putting an extra $400-500 to go to a 64gb version.

I know a little more than nothing but not much...

Was wondering bout that actually. Selling and upgrading. But wasn't sure bout resell value. Might try that. If I have more memory. Most of my issues are solved.

If you are thinking about selling and upgrading seriously look at the android tablets. The ability to add a micro SD card and attach USB devices is very straightforward with most of the android tablets. IPads generally hold their value pretty well.
