mattwnz: Does apple allow that?

I didn't think so.  That's why I was asking if anyone else here had been asked.

Satch: I've heard a rumour that Noel Leeming are calling their "high value" customers at the moment asking if they want a new iPad reserved for them.  Has anyone here been called?

If Apple found out I'd guess they'd lose their right to sell the Holy Grail. It was at Noel Lemming that I was told Apple didn't allow them the offer unapproved discounts, at risk of losing their reseller status.

Very interesting that The Warehouse is selling them online and early. Wonder if they will just be 16GB wi-fi models?

As for reports of screen issues - only live topic I've seen is around the back getting warm or hot on the left side. The iPad 1 & 2 have been notably cool, but you can only stuff so much electronics into a thin container before it starts warming up. If the displays are problem-free, all credit to the suppliers. It's the only thing that makes this an iPad worth upgrading to (if you read a lot).

Not really, they are Parallel Imported (from the USA where they are already on sale) just like the iPad 2's TWH has been selling.

Which 4g model is NZ getting? (not that it matters)

I'd think the international version?

Jaxson: $799 Warehouse, 16GB Wifi, 100 available online only from 11am 21st March.

Wow, I reckon that will be a rip-off!

Based on the exchange rate changes, I'm expecting the Apple official NZ price to come in well under $799 for the 16GB WiFi model.

Time will tell...   The Apple Store is down again this evening for another update! :)

Do you guys think the price will be the same or decrease? Although the Aussie price has gone down, but comparing other Apple Products with NZ price, it seems like they are not the same. E.g. Macbook's cost 2-300 extra in NZ.

If it does drop how much u think it may drop to, $719, $779?

I kinda think might be at $779, $200 extra from the old iPad 2

A friend and i had a play with one on Saturday at a JB here in Oz... not even sold out.

He's a huge apple fan and graphic designer... and he still didn't buy one :-/

Where are you seeing that? Just scoured the iPad page and links and I can't see any mention of NZ pricing yet?

Correction... I just found it under the Compare models link:
http://www.apple.com/nz/ipad/compare/

Interesting that there is a "Select a new iPad" button but it just goes to the iPad 2 only page...  I think they have slipped up and inadvertently published the NZ pricing early!

Or... it was an intentional leak to try and throw a spanner in The Warehouse's parallel import price gouging exercise tomorrow! ;)
