mattwnz: If you can't install a phone line, I wonder if you could negotiate a healthy discount on you rent.

Only if it is a rental property ;-)

If they purchased it from the developer, they should probably contact them about it , and for them to come up with a solution. Although it depends on how it was sold to them. If it was sold with all services easily connected and accessible, then they shouldn't be having this problem. Imagine buying a house where it is all plumbed up for water, with a pipe to the street, but no way to actually connect it to the mains in the street.

It is easily connected and accessible it will just take a little time to be installed.  It's not like Chorus have asked for $20k to do the install.

This is really quite simple....
Chorus will install this when a new connection is asked for. The customer will not get charged for installing the ETP. The cost of this is included when the trench is laid. It just works at that most of the time there isn't a house to attach the ETP to when the drains are done.

I brought a new house and have exactly the same lead.
I signed up for VDSL and a Chours tech came and told us that the lead is not up to standard.
I was requested to cut out the concrete on top of the lead-in pipe.
Called my electrician and he don't understand what is going wrong...
I am feeling hopeless now...

Have a look at this document on the requirements for the lead in from your street:

Any chance you can take a photo of what is at the side of your house (and post it here) so we can have a better understanding of what has/is gone/going wrong?

Thank you in advance!

In the middle of the driveway, where we asked to cut out the concrete.

Lead in pipe beside the house:

What is all the green conduit for? Is that from multiple houses?

The big black box is power - assuming the existing conduit is all from properties there doesn't appear to be a Chorus leadin/conduit running to there.

They have asked to cut out the concrete so they can install a Distribution point.
Who installed the conduit orginally? If Chorus did I would probably argue that they were a bit late to the ball game amd should have put the DP in before the concrete was poured.
If your sparky did it then it is up to them to cut the concrete. They have informed Chorus what was happening as it is a shared driveway and requires a bit of extra thought.

The green conduits is in the middle of a shared drive way.
Two of them has been connected together so I suspect that is for our neighbor.
And I asked my neighbor they have internet at home.
So I assume the other two left is one from the street and one running underground to the house.

This is a brand new house and the conduit should be installed by the developer.
So I guess my only option is to cut the concrete.
But just not very sure how big the area and how deep we need to cut.

They would of asked tocut the concrete to either install an 049 joint pillar or bury and joint through the 049s between the pillaroutfront to house

Also the green duct up the outside of the house is wrong and needs to be white
