I've got a Navman MY75T and received an email about new maps being available.  I can't get the software to update my unit (I'm not using a Navman USB cable, would this be the issue?)

Anyone else have any issues with doing the update?

USB cable isn't a problem as i use a $5 from trade me and it works fine.

Are you using the same computer you last used to update your GPS?

Have been trying for the last 2 hours but can't get my GPS to connect to the navDesk software. I had this same problem when I bought some maps of Europe last year, not sure what I did then but I did get it to work.

I have exactly the same problem.  I follow their directions plug in my My60T Navman, switch it on, start the latest Navdesk software (on my PC) and then nothing.  Navdesk says there is no update available and the 'New Update' button is greyed out.  I have tried contacting their support email address, got a couple of more detailed replies but it still doesn't work.  Same problem.  And now I get no response at all.

I wish they would get their A into G and fix it.

Oh, forgot to mention.  I tried the update on Windows 32-bit Vista.  And I am now trying it on Windows 7 64-bit.  Exactly the same problem on both.

Yeah, I know when it is working navDesk starts automatically the moment you plug in. The GPS suggests it is plugged into a computer though so maybe a driver issue?

I will have a play tonight reinstalling NavDesk and the drivers.

Just to be sure is everybody here having the same problem of their GPS not showing up in the NavDesk Software? Or are people having different issues?

Yes,  my GPS not showing up in the NavDesk Software.  I have determined that it appears to be a USB software driver problem.  Windows says it has the driver but I won't install it. On bootup it says:

USB software dr iver was not installed ... Mass storage device ... failed.

When I try and do a manual search of eveywhere for a matching driver, it says the driver is already installed.

Not sure what more I can do.

I had the same problem before. Tried it on multiple computers without much luck.

Then, a few months later, I restored my computer to factory condition (Win7) and voila, it works.

No idea why.

Right fixed my error after spending a fair while on google. Apparently NavDesk can't communicate with your GPS if you have Acronis true image installed.

I know, it sounded silly to me as well but I have just uninstalled true image and everything is updating nicely now.
