Fail. That's not something that's going to stop me switching as soon as my one year contract runs out. Now if they'd announced "we've bought more international bandwidth so you're allowed to ssh/rsync at >100kbyte/s now" I'd be interested.

$10 more a month to go from 30GB to unlimited and people are complaining? Can't please everyone I suppose.

Nope not complaining, just simply stating this plan doesn't suit my needs like the opposition does.

unlimited is $60. landline in urban is, what? $41?

so unlimited with a landline that gives you free local calls is $101.
naked unlimited is $90.

A massive saving of $11 for not having a landline.

Assuming they retain iTalk 500 with the naked plans it's save $11 over a regular landline and get a VoIP line with 500 national/international minutes and all chargable landline extras for free like call waiting etc.

I've changed my mind -- I think I will take up the unlimited offer.  Reasons are:
  • I've wanted a connection with free or cheap national traffic for ages.  Unlimited means free national traffic.  Mostly I want this for backups.  Now if only backblaze had a linux client...
  • It's not worth jumping through hoops to avoid slingshot's ludicrous rateshaping for a measly 25GB/month.  It is worth jumping through those hoops for a flatrate connection.

Yeah this is an awesome plan, props to Slingshot for bringing it out. Lets hope they can manage the bandwidth properly and you can download what you want when you want and not have to wait 12 hours for it to download at 50k/s.

Still deciding between vodafone and slingshot. Pros and cons for both and pricing works out pretty similar.

It's great to see that their staff are willing to comment and supposedly say they're listening to our feedback but ask a couple of what should be easy to answer questions and get no reply hmmm....makes you wonder.

Since I just went on unlimited can I change to this vs having the landline which to be honest I dont even know if is connected?

Understand if not but I would prefer to not count in the stats of people buying dead tech.

jtbthatsme: Well cause I can be i'm gonna be lazy and ask here instead of going to the website.

Does reserving a place guarantee it???

Is this a binding commtiment to join once they're officially up and running with this plan???

What sort of throttling will we see with this and what for as in will torrents be throttled (please bear in mind torrenting is not illegal it's just a popular format often used for illegal purposes of which I do not condone at all) and or FTP transfers???

Why such a short cut off as in early december???

You mentioned possible incentives (or the like) for existing Naked customers what are they and are they for SS Naked customers or those transferring as well???

Will your naked plan include your voip service or is that a added extra (if so how much)???

Hi there,

At this stage it is difficult to answer all of these questions as no announcement details have been given out. The information given by Scott has not even been announced internally yet, as it is all still in development, so these details are not all decided.

Does reserving a place guarantee it??? <- It provides you a much better chance but does not garuntee it.

Is this a binding commtiment to join once they're officially up and running with this plan??? <- No, expressing interest is not an obligaiton to go on the plan =)

What sort of throttling will we see with this and what for as in will torrents be throttled (please bear in mind torrenting is not illegal it's just a popular format often used for illegal purposes of which I do not condone at all) and or FTP transfers???  <- The priorization on this plan is the same as advertised for our normal unlimited plan. The details can be found here

Why such a short cut off as in early december???  <- Unfortunately I cannot answer this at the moment as this is a decision with our markering team.

Will your naked plan include your voip service or is that a added extra (if so how much)???  <- I cannot answer this either at the moment as the plan is not yet announced and is likely still in development.

Hi,

We could waive the ETF for the homeline, but you would go in a new contract for the naked dsl.
