Yesterday (Jan.11) I called to give 30 days notice that I would be cancelling my account with Orcon. I specifically told the agent to make sure the internet was not disconnected until Feb.10 and she reassured me that it would.

Well, what happened last evening (Jan. 11)? My internet was disconnected and now I have to re activate my account which could take up to a week! I called and spoke to tech-support - of course accounts is not open late - and they could not do anything as provisioning was closed for the weekend.

The fact that the tech-support - if you can call it that - does not have immediate communication with the accounts department is insane.  My internet was disconnected at the flick of a switch - how the hell can it not be re-activated in the same manner?

This is unacceptable service. I have had a number of other issues with Orcon and am utterly disgusted with how the business is run.

A lot the frustration stems from the fact that you ring "tech support" and they are just overseas call takers, and with limited ability to do anything useful.
I have managed to get through to second level support support, and they were much more useful.

Hi there,

This is concerning, it sounds as though there was some form of human error when the order was entered. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience here.

I'm afraid the process for getting you reconnected is not as quick as getting a disconnection order completed however if you can email me (socialmedia@team.orcon.net.nz) with your account details I would be happy to push this along for you.

The @orcon.net.nz email addresses are provided free for life, we never cancel these. If there is anything I can do to encourage you to stay on board please feel free to email me as well!

Cheers,

Cam

Hi Cam.

As a 12 year user of Orcon I would love to stay on board but 30 Gig is not enough and I don't want the Orcon fone service so i guess I will have to move....

I've noticed that of late cancellation seem to happen in a flash however new signup's seem to take forever..... funny that if its a port waiter exchange then I can understand but half the time its not.
