Hi guys,

I have taken the leap into the world of a proper HTPC. I bought a Tevii S470 and have plugged it into my home server (Intel DH67CF MOBO with i5 CPU).

I already have Sky and thought it would just be a simple case of splitting the satellite feed into my new tuner and setting up Tvheadend (I am running XBMC on my Raspberry Pi clients). However I have been having weird issues I am hoping someone here can help explain, or maybe help diagnose at least.

Here is what is happening;

Plugging the satellite feed directly into my MySky box works fine.

Plugging the satellite feed into my splitter (1-in, 2-out) and then running a single feed to my MySky box works fine.

As soon as I plug a feed from the splitter to my new tuner (in the HTPC) the Sky signal dies and I get nothing registering in Tvheadend either.

Plugging the satellite feed directly into my new tuner gives nothing in Tvheadend.

What would cause the Sky signal to die when I plug in this additional tuner? Is there something wrong with the new tuner, causing a short or something that kills the signal for everything?

I don't really understand this stuff as well as I would like, so I am hopeful someone here can help explain what might be going on.

Many thanks in advance!
Ben

Well it has all of a sudden started working. I have tried many things and nothing in particular seemed to be the key but I installed the latest version of the firmeware (http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TeVii_S470) which I think might have been part of the issue.

After a reboot and a reconfig of Tvheadend all of a sudden the muxes lit up and the services/channels appeared.

And my Sky box has signal as well.

Not sure what was causing the problems before but I can now watch live tv on my Raspberry Pi via my HTPC Tvheadend backend.

Very cool.
