I've got a HDHomeRun box here and am using it with Vodafone Complete ModemRouter. It is a bit laggy on my networked computers. Any ideas? I am guessing it is because of the router not capable of those speeds. Or most likely my Wireless network card isn't strong enough for HD signals? Most likely.

Also, sometimes it cannot detect the tuners inside the device? Computer says "Could not detect HDHomeRun tuners. Please check connections" etc.. But the device is functioning (green light stable, with one tuner free.)

I'd suggest a wired connection to the HDHomeRun rather than Wi-Fi which may lack the consistency of performance.

Oops, sorry, forgot to mention. The HDHomeRun box has to be connected by ethernet. No WiFi.. Now I may need to get a D-Link Powerline AV Ethernet adapter plug..

The HDHomeRun is connect via ethernet, but what about the client?

Otherwise, why would you mention WiFi at all...

So there it is. WiFi is not a good medium to connect to HD streams. You should use ethernet in BOTH sides.

WiFi is going to cause problems. Depending on exactly how you have your HDHomeRun configured it could be sending up to 30Mbps (an entire MUX) across your LAN. Unless you've got a good MIMO AP and device in a good RF environment sustaining this throughput over WiFi can be very challenging.

Yeah, I guess so. But the main problem is that when I re-scan the tuners on the HDHomeRun setup, it sometimes says it cannot find any tuners. etc.. Would that also be a problem with the WiFi?

WiFi is going to cause problems. Rinse. Repeat.

Once you have plugged a cable then you can troubleshoot anything.
