Hi,

a little more info on the make, model and software of your PVR(s) would be helpful. There have been reports of some zinwells (amongst other brands) which have not taken too kindly to the Mediaworks work to regionilise their DTT services back in September. When did problems start?

regards

Knoydart

Problems were starting to be reported last week - Have not got a specific date.

The latest info regarding Media Works is that there were redundant copies of the EPG in the transmission Stream causing some units stress, these have since been removed.

It is possible a little too much was removed ?.

I can confirm that booking programs on my zinwell zmt-640 and Panasonic myfreeview boxes are both working fine on those channels.
So which models of recorder are you hearing 'reports' about?

I live in Auckland, so no use to you.

What I would recommend is a retune. Does that work?

I'm in Nelson.  Sony KDL-40V4000 with built-in Freeview.  I have had some related difficulties: -

- I had no EPG at all on media works channels.
- The program info for those channels was viewable by opening the EPG from another channel
- Selecting a media works channel from the EPG resulted in a blank black screen with no a channel info.

A re-tune fixed all these problems

Another observation is that when I switch channels there is a lag time before the EPG is available.  This EPG lag seems to be longer on media works channels.  Maybe your PR is trying to access the EPG info to quickly?  Just a thought ...

A Tech in the Digital roll-out

The EPG issue seems to only have affected 4 units around the country at the same time.

It is looking more like a single unit STB flaw as there are thousands on units currently in use.

Just a coincidence that all had the same fault at the same time in different locations.

What brand STB is affected? What is the version of firmware in the affected boxes? Was the problem solved by a retune?

Simple questions really.
