Phone: S3
Plan: Prepay

Im confused with all the MBZ and 3G data packs and mobile broadband data etc.

I have been through the 2 Degrees website and still confused.

What does Blenheim get with 2 Degrees?
2G?

Im on the $19 data pack and each weekend i seem to get 1gb of mobile broadband.
What is it?

I noticed on the coverage map we have nothing, would i be better off on a different network?
I couldn't even make a video call.

My phone is roaming but i always get a notification saying data connectivity lost etc.

What is mobile broadband?
What is a 3g data pack?

Any help is appreciated.

If i can't get 3g normally without having to pay for it then im afraid i will have to switch to a new provider.
Haven't even been with 2 Degrees a month yet.

At present Blenheim is not a MBB zone. We are building out our network and the best place to check MBB coverage is here - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobilebroadband/broadbandzones

Until we build in your area the next best place would be to check our roaming partners coverage map for the 2G or 3G signals in your area - http://www.vodafone.co.nz/coverage/

The $19 Data Combo comes with 300MB of National Data which you can use in or outside of our canopy.
The MBB Data packs will not work in Blenheim which is why I'm curious about your 1GB MBB pack. Are you buying this and not using it?

Mobile Broadband is our HSDPA signal at 2100MHz and delivers average speeds of 800 to 1400kbps, you'll see 'H' when you're on it.

A 3G MBB pack is $50, lasts 2 months and can only be used in our MBB zones.

You should get a 3G signal in Blenheim off our roaming partner's network. If you can't, double check your phone settings making sure your network search is set to Dual Mode, able to pick 2G and 3G signals (GSM & WCDMA).

If you need more info let me know.
Cheers

I have it set to dual mode, data enabled etc but i still get a data connectivity lost message.
I brought a snapper micro sim in Wellington at the beginning of the month and i think i saw somewhere about 1gb of data free on weekends. I ran a test this weekend and turned off wi-fi and downloaded some apps and the 1gb did go down to reflect the usage.

I want a network where it isn't to and froing from one network to another.

Thanks for the reply.

Two Degrees Mobile Limited appear to have registered the band and frequency for sites in the Blenheim area back in February. (RSM Website) I don't live there but the biggest question for the locals would be have they built these yet? If they have then you will receive MBB coverage either now or within a few weeks. If the answer is no they have not built them then it can't be far away.
