Argh! You beat me to it. I was going to take some pictures while walking home from school.
One thing; The 2degrees tower is taller than the vodafone one 50 meters from it.

The first site isn't running yet, so I would assume not. The first site hasn't had the microwave dish installed that was mentioned in the letter and I still see the odd person come and work in the cabinets below the tower.

Nothing on 2degrees website about it being covered.

The proposed towers are only in Masterton and from my house (Close to one of the towers) I am only getting Vodafone and Telecom signals, no 2degrees yet.

I am not sure why your friend is getting '2degrees' signal. It will only be roaming on Vodafone.

Well he says  he had full 2d coverage on his GSM handset and he said he was definitely not roaming on vfone towers.

They don't tend to announce coverage in a particular area until they've spent some time optimising it to ensure that people don't unexpectedly drift into national roaming coverage when they're expecting to be paying in-canopy data rates.

Is it Masterton or Masteron? I can't decide! (And nor can 2degrees!)
