sbiddle: Both VF and Telecom have sites pretty close to The Square in Martinborough.

Ah ok I though it was on the hill on the side of town as I have been able to pickup Vodafones Martinborugh tower in Greytown, unless there is more than 1 of course.

Publius: naggyman, are you saying there's a third 2d tower in Masterton?

There is two, but I seem to only be seeing one. I am not exactly sure where it is. I will try actually installing google earth and trying it again (Instead of using Google Maps).

Google Maps has a limit on the number of points it can display which this KML exceeds.
Interestingly Google Earth for Android can display all the points which surprised me when I tested it.

I thought that that may have been the case. There is quite a few cells not shown on there.

I just wish that Bartender would update his maps with google fusion tables. He did such a great job and it is sad to have it left without updating.

Indeed, I used to regularly consult Bartenders maps also but as you say they are very much out of date now.

I've now made my own website map.geek.nz which has a google fusion map with all the points (no limit). Its still got some work to be done but its at the point where some here might find it useful.

Wow Publis. This is great! You have a good domain for it. We should intergrate other maps (Such as http://markhansen.co.nz/nz-wireless-map/ http://wirelessmap.markhansen.co.nz/). All that I am hoping is that you keep this site up to date. I can even offer some free processing on my Raspberry Pi if you'd like :)

My bad on that :(

I set it up as a automated script to update the fusion table every week after pulling down the RSM Database and munging it into the right kind of data.

But it seemed to have got broken months ago with the move to google drive or something like that.

Just re-ran it and updated it.

Feel free to slap me up side the head if I forget about it or it stops working again.

Check out my Mobile Cell Site Google Maps KML Files in my blog.
Now using Google Fusion Tables or Address Lookup or GPS using Smartphone
I update it on a monthly basis automatically from RSM.

Thats a huge update, looks tons better!

Edit: seems to be a lot missing, esp Telecom. Also the other map I saw in a previous post showed a few 2degrees towers in coastal taranaki where this one doesn't... (unless 2degrees changed their mind?)

Ahh I see Telecom have done a sigificant update and removed their CDMA registrations, and moved from 885 which was the single carrier for XT to 877mhz dual carrier I suspect.

Table updated and jumped from 3800 sites to 4848 sites... which sounds about right to me.

Didn't you used to be able to click on the pins and see the frequency info etc for each site, or am I imagining this?

Yeah.. that's in the Lookup. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22487235/Address.html but I get your point I should update the joined single fusion page. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22487235/fusion.html

Yes... I was already pulling that information out.  Feel free to have a look at the source data: https://www.google.com/fusiontables/DataSource?dsrcid=1355049 check out the twodeg1800hasval column.
