SteveON:Sorry 92% of the population.

I just had a close look at their Mobile Broadband zone coverage map, and there are plenty of places where they don't have coverage (yet). Nowhere near 92% of the population.

They could still be expanding though. There's a new tower being built here in Whakatane right over the road from a Vodafone one. It'll either be Telecom or 2D :)

Indeed, they are expanding (which is really good) but I highly doubt they cover 92% of the population with their own network - not at this stage anyway. I was asking Steve where he got that figure from.

Out of the sky... Nah, they should hit that target by early 2013

Update for anyone interested: It's 2D. It doesn't seem to be active yet (doesn't show up in a scan but it's now listed in the RSM database).

2degrees any news if there will be an update on national data plans?
100mb for $10 is not great value when im already pay $89 a month.

Id love to see more options like a decent priced extra 500mb etc.

Many overseas carriers already have unlimited data plans subject to fair use.

I made the grave mistake of having the photobucket app installed which this month started uploading several hundred MB over data connection and blew out my plan data!!!

Uninstalled!

Used up your 1GB Bonus?  Sheesh!  If you used casual rated data please PM your # so I can see about adjusting any extra charges.

Can't say on the Pack changes I'm afraid. We're building out our network so the MBB packs will work in more and more places in the near future.

Hi Steve

Can you elaborate further for the denser ones of us in the room?
How will my data increase in Q1 2013?

He's talking about NATIONAL data.

The $6 for 50 MB and $10 for 100 MB are becoming rather pathetic.

I think the plan is that "national data" will disappear and it'll all be charged at "mobile broadband" rates. Once 2d has the vast majority of customers on its own towers then the few remaining % are effectively subsidised.

I think it is ridiculous that my plan ($89) includes only 256MB of data, yet people paying $19 on prepay can get up to 600MB! I know I get the bonus 1GB on top of this, but only for a limited time.

I don't make any calls so my minutes have accumulated like crazy.. surely 2degrees can offer different plans at the same price? Like perhaps 1GB of data (+ bonus 1GB) and 100 minutes for the $89 plan. Seems reasonable.

I am on and have been on the $39.95 plan since I joined pretty much when 2D started. Then the data was 100MB(!). Now it's 1G of national data which I am not finding enough.

On the other hand like the previous poster I can accumulating minutes galore so much that I am now up to 260 minutes to use with an additional 120 each month. And then there's the bonus 100 minutes you get each month.

I wouldn't mind trading in some of those minutes for data also - say only get 60 minutes/month and 1.5GB of data.
