Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this. I gave my Samsung Omnia 7 to my gf after getting my Lumia 920. I had it on 2degrees for the 2 years that I owned it. Never had a real issue with reception, I would get 3g+ in my house. But now that she has brought her number over from Telecom its only receiving a few bars on E and sometimes up to 1 bar of 3g. Why would it be doing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Approx where are you? Maybe 2Degrees now have coverage in the area so Vodafone is no longer providing the coverage using national roaming

Maybe it only supports the 2100 band and your on Telecom's 2100 band fringe. GSM Areana shows it as 900 / 2100 bands only.

What is Vodafone / Telecom coverage like in the same location?

Have you tested with another handset?

2degrees have recently deployed their sites on the Kapiti Coast and moved away from national roaming on Vodafone. Most of their customers have moved away also as the coverage is now terrible.

In all honestly there is no fix other than moving networks if they provide better coverage at your location.

Nope nothing different at all. I just reset the phone to factory settings and gifted it to her.

Quite possible but roaming on Vodafone could have still been open all that time,
