if you sign up for the $89/mth plan then you get $800 plan bonus for a 24 month contract. worth about $320 net ($800 - $460, where $460 is the extra cost of the $89 plan over 24 months).
In other words, signing up to the $89 plan for 24 months gives you a 'free mobile'.
